Hire our clubhouse for your function

The French Bay Yacht Club is available for hire for Wedding Receptions, Anniversaries and 30th Birthdays upwards*.

French Bay Yacht Club is part of a small, quiet community and we welcome functions, weddings and celebrations that don’t intrude on our neighbours’ right to a good night’s sleep.

We therefore have strict policies around noise and finishing times. Music is allowed, but if you’re looking for a loud party venue French Bay is not the right place.

Hirage Fees

  • Hall Hire $650 including a cleaner
  • Bond $500 FBYC. Please review the terms and conditions carefully.
  • Day Prior for set up $150 (optional)
  • If you plan to sell alcohol a liquor license is required from the Council. Apply here If you are just supplying alcohol to your guests (i.e they have not purchased a ticket to attend your function and/or your guests are not purchasing alcohol on site) then you do not need a liquor license.

We provide:

  • 8 rectangular trestle tables (160cm x 75cm)
  • 2 rectangular trestle tables (240cm x 75cm)
  • 12 round tables (150cm diameter)
  • 100 chairs
  • The kitchens contains : 2 Ovens
  • 1 Microwave
  • 1 Dishwasher
  • 3 Sinks
  • 1 continuous hot water Zip
  • 1 Coffee Machine
  • 1 Warming Oven/Pie Warmer
  • 1 Fridge Freezer
  • 1 Bar Fridge

Anything you think you may need, you will need to bring. We do not supply cups, cutlery, plates etc. You will also need to supply your own cleaning equipment.

The hall is available for your use from whatever time you wish to get in the morning of hire. Music is to be turned off by midnight and everyone to be gone by 1am.

Please take into consideration that this is a residential neighbourhood and people are trying to sleep. No alcohol is to be sold on the premises unless you apply for your own temporary license.

*Please note that we do not cater for 21st Functions.

Booking your function:

Here are the steps you need to complete to hire the hall for your function :

  • Look on the booking calendar on this website to check for availability.
  • If the date you are looking at holding your function is available, email the Functions Coordinator on hallhire@frenchbay.org.nz to request a booking and/or a time to come and look at the hall.
  • When you receive the email confirmation the day/night is free, you must fill out the Application for Hall Hire. Print it out, fill it out and either scan it and email it to the above email or send it to: French Bay Yacht Club, PO Box 60-012, Titirangi, 0604. By signing this document, you confirm you have read and understand the terms and conditions of hire.
  • When you post/email the Application for Hall Hire, you must pay the returnable bond of $500 to secure your booking. You can send a cheque with the application if posting or make the payment by online banking to account:

    Please use your name/function date/bond as references
  • You will receive a Letter of Bond Receipt, by email when the club receives the bond.
  • The Hall Hire amount is due in full at least one month before your event.
    You can send a cheque to the above address or pay online to account:
    French Bay Yacht Club, BNZ, #    02-0184-0017957-00(please note suffix differs from the bond account)
    Please use your name/function date/hall hire as references.
    Please email the Functions Coordinator on the above email to let them know the money has been paid.
  • You will receive a Letter of Hall Hire Receipt, by email, when we receive the cheque or see the online payment. This letter will confirm payment received as well as to outline the standard conditions of hire as written on the website.
  • One week before your function, you will receive an email advising you where to pick up the key to the hall. The key needs to be returned to the same place when your function has ended.
  • Within 1-3 weeks of your event, you will receive the bond payment back by cheque to the address provided by you on the application form, providing all hire conditions were met.
