Junior Race Results 21 Feb 2010
Wow, what a day that was. Perhaps the best conditions yet this summer.
Great to see so many learn to sail helmspeople out with Peter, hopefully soon some of you can try a hand in the racing fleet.
Race 1 was won by Hamish very closely followed by Max and Logan.
The wind got up a bit for Race 2 and Megan shot to the front again followed by Max, and Anton (whose birthday it was today !! Happy Birthday Anton !!)
Good starts in both races (sorry the hooter was late for race 2, we were talking to port tack offenders). Remember being on port at the start is only asking for trouble and penalty turns, better to sail down the line on starboard if you are early.
Sailor of the day has to be Logan, who sailed the best race of his season to come in 3rd in Race 1. And in race two stayed cool as his boat turned into a submarine again. When water starts coming over the front of your Opti it’s time to move back in the boat a bit.
